Setup guide

VAT, payments & the rest.

The remaining cost layers that complete the picture — tax, payment fees, platform fees, and any costs unique to your business.

VAT & tax

Configure VAT per region. CM6 applies it at the line-item level so net revenue is genuinely net — not gross with tax quietly inflating your margin.

Note: where an order's total is known but a usable VAT rate isn't, CM6 defaults the VAT amount to zero rather than guessing — so you're never shown an invented tax figure.

Payment fees

Per-gateway rates applied per transaction — including FX conversion and chargeback handling. CM6 ships with the common schedules:

Shopify Payments

PayPal

Klarna

Using a gateway not listed? Let us know and we'll add its schedule.

Platform & subscription fees

Your Shopify subscription and GMV-based fees are real costs of trading. CM6 allocates them across orders rather than treating them as invisible overhead — so each order carries its fair share.

Custom costs

Every business has costs the standard layers don't capture — influencer fees, packaging inserts, a per-order levy, a fixed monthly cost to amortise. Add them as custom costs and CM6 folds them into contribution profit alongside everything else.
