Getting started

From sign-in to your first margin view.

Most brands are live within days. The wizard takes under an hour; the rest is data backfill running in the background. Here's the path end to end.

  1. Create your CM6 account

Sign in at app.cm-six.com. If your store isn't linked yet, you'll land on the access page — request access and an admin will grant it.

  2. Connect Shopify

Install the CM6 app and approve the requested read scopes. CM6 begins syncing your orders, customers, and products.

  3. Your dataset is provisioned automatically

Nothing to set up. CM6 provisions a Google BigQuery dataset isolated to your store — never pooled with another brand’s data — and syncs your history into it. You own your data: export it at any time, and uninstalling deletes the dataset outright.

  4. Run the setup wizard

Capture your cost structure: COGS, fulfilment economics, payment & platform fees and VAT. The wizard guides each layer.

  5. Connect your ad accounts

Link Meta, Google and Bing for channel-level marketing attribution. Optional, but it unlocks fully-loaded acquisition economics.

  6. Let the first enrichment and backfill run

Recent orders are costed within minutes; full history takes longer depending on volume. You'll see coverage fill in as it completes.

  7. Open the Profit Explorer

Your first contribution-margin view — by order, product, channel, and cohort. Share it with finance, marketing, and ops.

Tip: the more complete your COGS coverage, the more accurate your margin. The wizard flags any SKUs without a cost so you can fill the gaps before you rely on the numbers.

What to check first

  • COGS coverage is complete (no unmatched SKUs flagged)
  • Fulfilment costs look right against a few known orders
  • Ad spend is appearing by channel
  • The dashboard date range covers a period with orders
